Dental implants allow us to replace one missing tooth or secure dentures in place. A dental implant is a biocompatible titanium post that is inserted into your jawbone and is used as root (and a base) for any artificial teeth that will be placed in your mouth.

Besides giving you a better smile, dental implants can help with good dental health. Food, plaque, and bacteria build up easily when you have missing teeth. You may also have trouble cleaning the area, and many people end up developing cavities and other dental problems. Dental implants can also make it easier to eat and speak.

Our team will evaluate your overall dental health and assess your bone structure. If you are a candidate for dental implants, our office will refer you to a local specialist for placement of the implant(s). Following implant placement at the specialist office, the area will be allowed to heal for several weeks so that your bone can integrate with the titanium post. When healing is complete, our office will create a custom crown to be placed or your denture will be modified so it can be secured in place.

With proper care, dental implants will last your whole life.  However, you still need to brush your teeth, floss, and use mouthwash. Routine dental checkups are also important to maintain good dental health.
